issue 01

hi. hola. buenos dias. salut. bonjeur.

so i guess i'm supposed to write about stuff that's going on with me en mi vida loca right now. well, where to begin... let's see. i have two, count 'em ONE-TWO big life changes taking place in the next few months. first and foremost, i'm leaving the life of a renter behind and buying my first house. cuhrazy!!! papers are signed. sleep has been lost. tears have been shed. actually, no tears have been shed. i'm super stoked to say the least. i went last week and picked out all of the stuff they need to build it, meaning countertops, cabinets, flooring, and all of the other 31835435976 buhjillion options. it was a little overwhelming at first, but i'm pretty happy with everything i picked. since that's done, they just have to build it. it's supposed to be done around the end of the year.

financing this little project brings me to big ol' life change numero dos... i'm taking a new job in the school district. i was offered a position at a school to be their math strategist. don't ask me what that means. i just assume i'll be working with numbers. whatever it is, i'll be working more than the standard 9 months that a regular teacher works which will allow me to get a little pay bump. i'm kinda nervous about the new position mainly because it's at a new school with a new principal. i've been at the same school for the last five years and with the same principal for my entire teaching career. it's gonna be a switch to work for someone new, but it ain't nothing i can't handle.

well, i guess that's all for now. i'm gonna finish my squirt and enjoy the rest of the day avoiding the 109 degree heat.
